GetUp has launched its most powerful vehicle for social change: a nationwide network of local Action Groups who meet regularly to work on campaigns and tactics.
Every week across Australia, GetUp members are coming together locally to get organised, develop skills, and build sustained power in the community. It’s the foundation of a bold long-term plan to tip the balance of power in our society away from corporations and big money, towards everyday people.
But the network needs more volunteer support to grow.
Come along to the Volunteer Information Night to learn about the Victoria and Tasmania Support Team — a mission-critical volunteer cohort that supports the work of GetUp members across these states and liaises directly with GetUp staff.
What is the State Support Team?
The SST is made up of committed volunteers who meet every few weeks and work together to support the Action Groups by developing resources and best practice. If you enjoy working with other people and big picture strategy, then this is a great fit. You can read more about the role here.
