Barton #ThisCantWait Planning 6.30pm Thurs 7th Oct 2021

It’s the final countdown to the November world leaders’ Climate Conference — and we need all hands on deck to hold Scott Morrison accountable to delivering real climate action now.

The Murdoch Media is gearing up to provide cover for Morrison to go to the conference with a distant 2050 target with no real plan to get there.

And they’re likely to be helped by an online disinformation machine: a network of extreme social media accounts and bots, that attract more viewers through high engagement on controversial posts.

Together, they will spin stories that keep delaying climate action.

But the scientific community says waiting decades for climate action is not fast enough to protect the people and places we love.

We need to reach people now with a strong counter story that cuts through Morrison’s spin, builds momentum and holds him accountable to real climate justice now #ThisCantWait.

Barton Action Group has been campaigning since early 2018 and now has members in Canterbury Bankstown, Bayside and Georges River areas.  This planning meeting is to discuss options where you could comfortably contribute and to look at possible working groups where neighbours and friends could work together to contribute  to the campaign

So please join us on Thursday the 7th for an informal evening possibly breaking into smaller groups at times. Surround yourself with whatever drinks, snacks or food you fancy and let us grow our community's people power for a fairer future where disinformation doesnt disadvantage those we love..
