If you havent heard of us, we are the Barton Action Group, a team of local GetUp members who share a passion for environmental justice, human rights, democracy and economic fairness.

The post election landscape is forming
- We know that we are facing a climate crisis.
- We know the Morrison Government is threatening to repeal the legislation to resolve an offshore medical emergency, legislation that Barton members campaigned for outside the Immigration Minister's office last year.
- We know that the government is raiding the offices of journalists who are publishing stories that are clearly in the public interest.
While Getup is undertaking very detailed analysis of the election (why the polls were so wrong, why our campaigns were clearly impactful in some places but less so in others, what issues turned the election, etc) we're still facing a climate crisis.
We can't afford to sit back and wait for that analysis to be complete, the climate crisis won't wait, and neither will the newly elected Morrison Government.
Getup are kicking off things with a series of Get Together meetings in homes and community spaces across the country. They are asking everyone who can, to host a Get Together with their friends, family and community groups to help chart the way forward with a special focus on climate justice.
We need your help to to identify opportunities and develop plans to reenergise existing relationships and build new relationships with the Banks and Barton communities to support this initiative.
At the meeting you will be sharing ideas with other like-minded Getup members then chatting over byo refreshments.
