If you haven't heard of us, we are the Barton Action Group, a team of local GetUp members who share a passion for environmental justice, human rights, democracy and economic fairness.

The post election landscape is clear
- We know that we are facing a climate crisis.
- We know the Morrison Government is threatening to repeal the legislation to resolve an offshore medical emergency, legislation that Barton members campaigned for outside the Immigration Minister's office last year.
- We know that Origin Energy is planning to start fracking in aboriginal communities across the beautiful NT
The climate crisis won't wait, and neither will the Morrison Government or fossil fuel corporations.
We had a GREAT September, first screening the film 2040 with very few seats left empty then almost the entire audience raised their hand to show they would attend the Sydney Climate Strike.
Sydney's Climate Strike crammed the Domain with people and a few of us managed a coffee afterwards but it was impossible to seek out the many we knew were there.
Our Refugee group campaigned strongly.
In October we were part of a strong presence for Origin Energy's AGM.
This meeting is an opportunity to share recent achievements, plan next steps in ongoing campaigns and discuss new campaign opportunities with a focus on reenergising existing relationships and building new relationships with the Barton and nearby communities.
At the meeting you will be sharing ideas with other like-minded Getup members then chatting over byo refreshments.
