What to expect at a GetUp event?
Attending your first event with a new group of people can be nerve-wracking! But you’ll be supported every step of the way, and our hope is that you walk away with a smile on your face and some new friends.
Here’s what to expect at your first GetUp event:
1. Hello! |
If you arrive a few minutes early, a friendly volunteer facilitator or leader will greet you, ask you to sign an attendance form and get to know you a little. |
2. Meet the team |
You’ll often be asked to spend a few minutes for everybody to introduce themselves |
3. Briefing |
At actions, your facilitator will then explain how the event will run, set some norms and deliver any training you need |
4. Action! |
Whether it’s a calling party or a stunt, taking action is often easier than you think. You can always ask the facilitator or other friendly volunteers for help if you need it. |
5. Debrief |
Share your experience, learnings and wins at a group debrief. |
