What: Rally outside the Nature Positive Summit to call out fossil fuel expansion
When: Tuesday, 8 October 2024, 8:45 to 10:00 am
Where: International Convention Centre front entrance, Iron Wharf Place (off Darling Drive), Darling Harbour
On Tuesday, 8 October, the Albanese Government is hosting a global summit on protecting and restoring nature.
So we’ll be there to call out the hypocrisy with a people powered rally.
The Albanese Government is continuing to lock in new coal and gas, and still haven’t pulled the brakes on fracking in the Northern Territory.
Burning coal and gas is making bushfires and floods worse, impacting nature and everything connected to it - culture, water, Country and community health.
We’re joining our friends at Lock the Gate, the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, and Move Beyond Coal, as well as Traditional Owners travelling from the NT to hold a powerful rally at the venue.
Together, we’ll send a clear message that we won’t stand by while our political leaders continue to lock in more coal and gas.
Will you join us on Tuesday, 8 October and take action to hold the Albanese Government to account while they’re in the global spotlight?
