In his first month as the new Queensland Premier, David Crisafulli has announced he plans to rip up the pathway to Treaty with First Nations peoples and disband the Truth-Telling and Healing Inquiry that our Elders and communities fought so hard to establish.
This new Liberal government wants to set back decades of progress on First Nations justice overnight, creating a dangerous precedent for other parts of the country. But here’s the thing: we aren’t going to let them.
This Tuesday, First Nations people and our allies will be rallying at Parliament House on the first sitting day of the new government: calling out their harmful policy agenda and standing together for justice.
What: Nothing About Us Without Us Rally
When: Tuesday November 26th, 8:30am
Where: Queensland Parliament House, 2A George Street, Brisbane
Please note this action is being organised by the First Nations Action Network and is not a GetUp-led event. For more information, visit the First Nations Action Network web page.
From 9am on Tuesday morning, a network of grassroots First Nations activists will also be gathering at Queens Gardens and marching to Parliament House.
