At lunchtime this coming Tuesday 9 February, we’re coming together to deliver our Clean Recovery petition to our Brisbane MP Trevor Evans. Will you join us?
Over the Summer, GetUp volunteers in Brisbane have been hard at work collecting almost 600 petition signatures for a Clean Recovery, showing our MP Trevor Evans that his constituents want clean energy and clean jobs, not dirty fossil fuels like methane gas.
Now it's time to deliver that petition!
What: Petition delivery to Brisbane MP Trevor Evans
Where: MP Trevor Evan's office, 349 Sandgate Rd, Albion
Who: Any Brisbane resident or GetUp member (just make sure you RSVP so we can prepare for the event to be covid safe)
At this event, we will hold a short photo and media opportunity outside Evans' office and then a group of Brisbane constituents will deliver our petition to his office.
Don't worry if this is your first event with us! We'll give you a warm welcome and run a briefing with you beforehand so you know everything you need to.
As this event runs during lunchtime, we will honour your time and keep is short but sweet (please arrive on time so we can do this).
With the Government splitting and international pressure mounting, Morrison will be considering his next move on climate, and we need to make sure key MPs in his party room are pushing him in the right direction. Our petition delivery couldn’t come at a more perfect time.
And the more people attend, the clearer our message will be that Brisbane voters want a Clean Recovery!
