Politics in the Pub: Prospects for a Cool Future?

To go on the waiting list please email paulg@getup.org.au.
We want a safe climate and a vibrant natural world preserved for future generations - not a world ravaged by the worst effects of climate change.

Renewable energy can power our country with affordable, clean electricity. It's time for politicians to sit up and take notice - we want a cool future!

Join us for a drink and lively political discussion at the award winning Wheatsheaf Hotel, with special guest MC - GetUp's Environmental Justice Director and frequent guest on ABC's The Drum,
Miriam Lyons!

Miriam will help us explore what climate change action is brewing in the minds of special guests:

  • Mark Butler - Shadow Climate Change and Energy Minister & Member for Hindmarsh
  • Tim Storer - Independent Senator for South Australia
  • Sarah Hanson-Young - Greens Environment Spokesperson and Senator for South Australia
  • Plus (hopefully) Senators and MPs from the LNP and Centre Alliance too (TBC)
Is global warming still the ‘greatest moral challenge of our time?' What barriers have prevented Australia us making progress on this important issue? What opportunities exist in new and innovative approaches, technologies and industries and the prospects they offer for prosperity? What does the Australian voting public want to see happen on climate change?

Join us and find out over a drink at The Wheaty!

*Please be aware that we'll be asking all RSVPs to donate $5 at the door to help farmers struggling with the effects of climate change.
