Origin Energy's Annual General Meeting is just over a week away, and it’s set to be a pivotal moment in the campaign against fracking.
Origin Energy is one of the biggest frackers in the Northern Territory, steamrolling consent of Aboriginal communities who have been saying no for over a decade.
Backed in by thousands of GetUp members, Traditional Owners lodged powerful resolutions in anticipation of Origin’s upcoming AGM, detailing the impact of fracking on communities’ water, health and cultural heritage, and making it clear: Traditional Owners are saying no to Origin’s plans.
If enough of us paint the streets with posters and flyers in the days leading up to the AGM, we can show Origin their disastrous fracking plans don’t have support - not from Traditional Owners, the public, or their customers.
The flyer we will hand out. Traditional Owners will be at the AGM itself - let’s echo their voices out the front of Origin offices.
When: Monday 18 October 2021
- Meet at GetUp office at 10:30am for a 15min briefing and to collect flyers, posters and a Don’t Frack the NT t-shirt
- We’ll catch the bus from West End to the Origin office and have a presence in the area from 11am - 2pm
Where: Briefing + merch collection at GetUp office (RSVP for address) and then bus travel to Origin office @ 180 Ann St
