Kooyong/Higgins "Future to Fight For" Discussion Forum

Being bold again

We don't exist to serve the economy; the economy exists to serve us. We need a new vision for our society; a charter of economic rights that replaces the narrow interests of corporations and wealthy elites with our collective interest as citizens.

For the first time in human history, we have the resources, technology, and skills to build a society where all our needs are met.

What holds us back today is not scarcity, but the stranglehold of powerful corporations who have exploited a corrupt political system to seize control of our politics, and politicians who ignore the voices and needs of everyday people. They told us deregulation, privatisation, and balanced budgets were a prescription for prosperity, that 'the free market' would bring stable jobs, falling prices, and more wealth for us all to share.

We all know how that all turned out.

“Future to Fight For” is our vision.  It is an unapologetically bold vision, but it is built on the hope of past generations who were equally bold.

We invite you to join us, learn about it and help us make it a reality by stepping beyond the narrow aperture of what we're told is politically possible.
