How to Recruit People to the Political Revolution

This election, we have an unprecedented opportunity to finally kick out the worst blockers of progressive change. Lots of people who have never taken action before are ready to get involved in getting rid of the hard right.

But how do we get people to commit to take strategic action on a weekly or even daily basis? How do we get people to come to our calling parties? our door knocks or our online calling sessions?

Join this training to learn an organising skill that will help turn people out to join you: "the hard ask". A hard ask is essentially an ask that results in a commitment to a specific action. Many factors, from our attitude to the language we use to communicate it, can affect the results we get.

In this training we will walk through the theory behind the hard ask and the language we can use to make our asks more effective, and practice scenarios relevant to our election strategy.

You will leave this training equipped with the organising skills necessary to recruit people to join our political revolution and kick the hard right off Parliament once and for all.

This is an online meeting using Zoom, a video meeting/conferencing service. Once you RSVP, you'll be sent an email with a link to join. Fifteen minutes before the meeting click the link and you'll be connected to the meeting. If you don't have Zoom already, the free software will automatically download. It's really easy!
