GetUp Mackellar Stop Adani Calling Party!

We're ramping up pressure on key marginal MPs to force the government to abandon its ludicrous plan to give ONE BILLION dollars to the Adani coal mine. We'll be talking to voters in these electorates about the government's proposed handout and encouraging them to vote wisely in their upcoming election.

Over the next couple weeks GetUp groups like ours, alongside other #StopAdani activists, have set a goal to make 100,000 calls in total to the voters who we know will decide the future of Adani’s billion-dollar bailout.

We know this strategy works. One-on-one conversations between ordinary Australians have been the driving force of the most effective people-powered campaigns. Please join us to help make this happen! All are welcome!

We'll provide tea, coffee, and snacks - and you'll get to meet other like-minded people who care about the same issues as you do.

Please bring your own:
  • charged mobile phone
  • headset/hands-free device (e.g. ear phones with a microphone)
  • arrive a little early so we can start on time.
New to community calling? Don't worry we've got your back.
At each community calling session:
  • We provide training on how to have powerful, persuasive conversations that motivate people to take action.
  • We will give you a campaign update & briefing on the #StopAdani campaign. Visit http://action.getup.org.au/community_calling_resources to learn more.
  • You will have the opportunity to listen to experienced callers make calls and get a feel for it before you jump on the phone :-)
  • The technology is very easy to use. You don't need a smart phone, there is no app to install or webpage to visit, all you need to do is call a number to join the campaign and the system will prompt you through each step.
  • Don't worry no one will be able to see your phone number,
  • GetUp's calling system can call your phone so that GetUp incurs the cost at no cost to you.
  • If you really aren't comfortable making calls, help us out in other ways - making tea and coffee for those who are making calls, etc.
