After years of resistance from Traditional Owners and allies, Origin Energy abandoned their fracking plans in the Northern Territory. But the threat of fracking isn't over.
Tamboran Resources plan to turn fracked gas from the Beetaloo Basin into plastic, pesticides, and gas for export through the Middle Arm petrochemical plant - with a whopping 1.9 billion dollars of public money.
This plant is being used to justify fracking in the Beetaloo Basin – steamrolling Traditional Owners' consent.
Traditional Owners have relentlessly opposed opening the Beetaloo Basin to fracking, which threatens sacred sites, cultural heritage, water supplies and would release millions of tonnes of climate-wrecking carbon into the atmosphere.
The gas industry is deliberately confusing politicians and the media on the true nature of the Middle Arm petrochemical plant, relying on greenwashing to push their toxic plan over the line.
This webinar will cut through the spin and clearly explain these disastrous plans, and what we can do to stop it. You will hear directly from Traditional Owners from across the Northern Territory who have been leading the fight against fracking for over a decade.
