If you haven't heard of us, we are the Barton Action Group, a team of local GetUp members who share a passion for environmental justice, human rights, democracy and economic fairness.
- We know that we are facing a climate crisis.
- We know that Origin Energy is planning to start fracking in aboriginal communities across the beautiful NT
- We campaigned hard to get the Medevac legislation passed, a law that meant doctors, not Dutton, made medical decisions for people offshore.
Our and others efforts allowed nearly 200 people to get needed medical treatment delaying the Morrison government until it tore down the legislation in the final hours of Parliament for 2019
This meeting is an opportunity to share recent achievements, plan next steps in ongoing campaigns and discuss new campaign opportunities with a focus on reenergising existing relationships and building new relationships with Barton and nearby communities.
At the meeting you will be sharing ideas with other like-minded Getup members then chatting over byo refreshments.
