Ahead of critical decisions on fracking subsidies in the May budget, Ballarat locals are coming together to deliver a massive petition to local MP, Infrastructure Minister Catherine King.
Join us at the fountain at the corner of Sturt St & Lydiard St at 11 am Friday 28th April to hear from special guest speakers. We'll then cross the road at the lights and go up the block to Minister King's electorate office for group photos and to deliver a national joint petition against fossil fuel subsidies.
This is a peaceful, family-friendly action – and we need as many people there as possible to show the media and government decision-makers that the public is standing against public funding for gas!
Local Ballarat GetUp members met with Climate Justice Campaigner David to plan the petition delivery as part of a national campaign to stop fracking subsidies in the upcoming May budget.
