GetUp has launched its most powerful vehicle for social change: a nationwide network of local Action Groups who meet regularly to work on campaigns and tactics.
Every week across Australia, GetUp members are coming together locally to get organised, develop skills, and build sustained power in the community. It’s the foundation of a bold long-term plan to tip the balance of power in our society away from corporations and big money, towards everyday people.
But the network needs more volunteer support to grow.
Come along to the Volunteer Info Night to learn about the NSW State Support Team and Support Core — two mission-critical volunteer cohorts that support the work of GetUp members across Australia and liaise directly with GetUp staff.
What: Volunteer Info Night
When: 6-7pm, Tuesday 22 May
Where: GetUp HQ, Level 14, 338 Pitt St, Sydney
What is the State Support Team?
The SST is made up of committed volunteers who meet every few weeks and work together to support the Action Groups by developing resources and best practice. If you enjoy working with other people and big picture strategy, then this is a great fit. You can read more about the role here.
What is Support Core?
Support Core is a team of volunteers based in the Sydney GetUp office. Support Core responds to member questions and feedback, manages the front desk and helps on a diverse range of campaigns and tactics. If you’re an organised person, and a passionate and diplomatic written communicator, then this could be for you.
