Brisbane Qld State Election Community Calling Session
Since the launch of the #StopAdani Campaign, putting pressure on our MPs and informing our communities on the Adani Mine, our members' efforts have culminated in Annastacia Palaszczuk's explosive announcement last Friday to veto the NAIF loan if elected. This is a testament to the power and passion of our members, who together made up a movement that cannot be ignored.
Now we must take advantage of this massive breakthrough and ride the momentum. It is time to act! To have persuasive and powerful phone conversations with the voters to make sure that we vote in a government that will stop the $1 billion loan to Adani to build his environmentally-devastating and ethically-corrupt mine.
When: Wednesday, 8th November 2017, 6 pm - 8 pm
Where: Brisbane GetUp Office, Office 3, 15 Lamington Street, New Farm
This state election is our chance to stop the Carmichael Mine from going ahead.
You’ll be joining a group of other passionate GetUp supporters to call voters who live in marginal Coalition seats and ask them what they think about the government’s plan to give a billion dollars to the multinational mining company, Adani, for the Carmichael Rail Project.
If you haven’t joined us for one of these events before, you’ll find it’s a surprisingly pain-free and interesting way to spend a couple of hours, and we can promise a few laughs as well.
All training and resources are provided, so all you need to bring is yourself and your phone!
